NEW Bristol art print!

Shipshape Bristol Fashion is here! This design has been in my head for so long yet I haven’t made the time to pull it together until now. This brand new Bristol Harbour art print is an ode to the independent and rebellious spirit of Bristol, one of the many – if not the main – reasons I love this quirky city so much.

The design is set in Bristol Harbour and includes the Matthew ship with a rainbow flag, the Thekla in its earlier days with Banksy’s Grim Reaper and an NHS flag, the Tower Belle party boat, and a giant Gromit the dog scaling the Bristol Ferry, Brigantia, all around Colston’s statue having a bit of a dip, with the No 7 Shark ferry getting pretty close…

In the background is our city’s beloved colourful houses, Purifier House, Cabot Tower on Brandon Hill, and in the sky is the smiley face put there last summer by a retired RAF pilot to bring much needed cheer to us all.

My prints all start as little illustrations that I do with unipens, which are then scanned in. I add colours and put the design together in vector design software. These designs take me hours and hours to do, not least because I do a lot of drawing and if something does not look right – I draw it again! Plus I try every layout I can picture in my head to find the one that brings out the best in all the constituent parts. At the end of the day I think it is worth it because the designs are filled with little details and what is better than finding something new each time you look at it?

This Bristol Harbour art print will brighten up the walls in any space, even in a kid’s room, and makes a lovely gift for Bristol fans.

Printed right here in Bristol by independent printers, on high quality Somerset Enhanced Art paper, with archival inks – meaning it will stay vibrant for up to 75 years!)
